M5 or RS4?

So I am in love with the M5. It suits my needs (4 doors), is fast (500hp V10), SMG III, and looks like a sleeper (wolf in sheeps clothing). The RS4 is pretty much the same: 4 doors, fast (420bhp), quattro (all wheel drive), 6 speed, and also toned down apparence. The M5 is 91k optioned up and the RS4 is 75k optioned up. Reviews of the M5 have been steller. The V10 won the best engine of the year and Top Gear and Fifth Gear both claim its the best saloon ever! The RS4 is released in Europe and its coming to the States in July-ish. It did the Nubergring faster than the M5. They both are fantastic cars. The only bad thing is that the Audi doesn't come with a racing steering wheel and racing seats as does the European counterpart. Stupid US safety specs. Its not like Europe is any less safe right? Its not like I'm in the market to buy one just yet. But a man can dream can't he?

Epiphany!!!

So I had an epiphany a few months ago. I was sitting in my house around 2am playing video games of some sort....and realized that staying up this late doing "nothing" isn't going to get me anywhere. I felt like I plateued in my career but was happy about where I was but wanted more. More of everything but mostly money. Money can't buy you happiness. I am happy. So I have that everything else is materialistic. I admit, I have my wishlist of high priced items. Some of which are in my grasp now. I am at a place in my life where I can say that I have exceeded my own expectations of what I wanted at my age. Wanted in the sense of those invaluable items you can't buy with money. I know, for the first time in my life, I can say that my head is above water and everything else is going to be gravy. They say you should keep 3-6 months of savings just incase anything happens. I have that. I have more than that...alot more. I have no debt, except for my mortgage. My car payment is 0% so that's nothing. I can probably pay off the car now if it wasn't 0%....but that's free money. But with those happy things comes added responsibility. I have mouths to feed and colleges to pay for. My materialistic items have to wait, a little while anyways. Why make money when you can't spend it?

If I were still single, I'd be renting in the city, driving a porsche 911 turbo, wearing $3000 suits and have roley's for everyday of the week. I know myself. I know that I wouldn't have any savings and still living paycheck to paycheck. I know that I wouldn't be as happy as I am now. I thank God for everything he has given me and I try not to take that for granted.

Umbrella etiquette...

So...its been raining cats and dogs the last couple of days. I have been wearing my dockers with stain resistant nano-technology in them and they work great. The pants retain the water on the outermost layer...my legs never get wet. I come into work and I just wipe them off and voila...they are dry. I'm going to get 10 pairs!!!!!

Back to my dilemma.....I have a personal umbrella. Meaning, its big enough for me and possible one person who hugs me really tight. Other than that...its not that big. Now you have these really short people with a quadruple golf umbrella. WTF!!!!! Then you have these idiots who have these needles poking out ready to take your eye outa your socket. Get a 5 dollar job on the corner...c'mon people.

I hate getting bumped into...that isn't bad enough...its when the water from that person's umbrella shakes off onto you...idiots!

I like rain...I hate walking or waiting for the bus in it....

So much stomach....too little shirt....

So I came back from Disney. If you consider that Disney is probably a good cross section of America, since every nationality and background goes there, then using this as a sample should prove fairly accurate.

One thing I noticed is that you can tell foreigners pretty quickly:

The whole family will wear football jerseys (soccer for you yanks)
They were cool trainers (sneakers for you yanks)
They are usually fairly skinny
They speak English with an accent. (pretty obvious)

One thing I noticed about Americans:

They are fat...not phat...but F-A-T fat.
They need scooters to move around they are so fat.
The same people who visit Time Square and stop in the middle of the sidewalk for no apparent reason or warning are the same people who go to Disney World.
They are very few skinny people.
People from the South don't just sound dumb they are dumb. (from this particulary cross section sample)

There were numerous people that just had too much belly for their shirts. I know its cool to show mid-drift when properly executed. What fails to register is that these people probably do not own full length mirrors. How else would you explain the over obundance of belly and love handles??? Even skinny girls have bellys and love handles. Being skinny doesn't mean your tight or in shape. COVER those BELLIES!!!!!! It doesn't take much to buy a shirt in your size. It doesn't take much to invest in a mirror that is full length. It doesn't take much to realize that your belly isn't supposed to stick out.

It was sad to see so many overweight people. I mean Disney needs to put more double reinforced benches every 5 feet so fat people who get tired from, "walking" can rest. Disney is a big park which you will need good shoes and alot of energy to walk across all day long. I am not trying to say fat people shouldn't go to Disney. I am saying that America as a whole needs to rethink their way of eating. Its already out of control.

The simple things...

Its the little things that make me happy. I am not reminded often enough of this. Today something happened that not only brought me joy but the feeling of pride. The pride was not for me but for someone else. Now I might know how my father felt.

Rita is heading toward Texas. Godspeed to those there and please learn from the Katrina victims and get out now.

New Orleans.....

The best quote I heard from the media thus far from Wes Anderson (the guy who hosted The Mole) said, "I call looting when you grab a TV with no electricity, when you go get food and water to live, that's foraging"...or something like that.

Tragedy brings out the best and worse of humanity. The best is that people from everywhere came to help the victims of Katrina. Poor and the wealthy were hit the same way. Homes were destroyed and lives were taken. People literally have nothing. Gone. Everything. You hear so many stories of people going to their attics while they watch the water come up through the ceilings and how family members just couldn't hold on and drowned in front of them. The news reported that FEMA ordered 25,000 body bags. I remember when NYC ordered 25,000 body bags for 9/11. Foruantely, they were not needed. This situation is different. Bodies are in the water. Hidden in their own houses. Hidden in debris. I heard that 30 invalids were found in a nursing home. The employees abandoned them, left them to die. Where's the dignitity in drowining because you couldn't get up the stairs to higher ground...if that would've even helped? I am reminded of the two old people in the movie Titanic who just help each other while the water surrounded their bed. Atleast they were together. (Yes, I know that it was only a movie and that never happened...geez.)

So the people who "loot" are doing this because of what? Social pressures? That they are forced to live in underprivledged areas? That they are forced to go onto welfare and live in the projects? Because of this they are allowed to steal from stores? I don't think so. All through college morality is said to be "What you would do when no one else is looking?" I think we know the answer to this question. So maybe the media is right? Maybe, when the having looting footage it is of one type of person and when they have survival footage its another type of person. Maybe this type of people need to reasses their own view of themselves. Where's the Cos? Maybe just maybe Kanye West is uncomfortable with the way his people are portrait because its true? Not everyone of course is a looter, but these people are. WTF are they going to do with 5 pairs of sneakers still in the box (heck I would've taken them out of the box and put them in a bag much easier to carry on those wet virus and bacteria filled streets) and TV's without power? Again, if they had arm full of food and clothes to support their families then it might be different. When they have shopping carts of electronics and designer clothes....well my friend, that is one thing and one thing only.

One word of advice... When the governement tells you a Category 5 whatever is coming to exactly where you live, GET THE F*CK OUT!!!..... NOW!!
